Privacy Policy

MixTube respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the app uses, why it is needed, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.

On this page

    At a glance

    • No account is needed. Your songs, lyrics, favorites and settings are kept on your device.
    • When you create music with AI, your prompt, lyrics and chosen style are sent to our AI partner only to make your song.
    • The built-in browser can open any website. We do not keep your browsing history on our servers.
    • Camera, microphone, location and Photos are used only after you allow them, and never sent to us.
    • Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config help us understand usage, fix crashes and tune the app.
    • We do not sell your personal information.

    About this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the MixTube mobile app ("App") and this website (together, the "Service"), operated by the MixTube team ("we", "us", "our"). MixTube lets you create music with AI, listen to music, and browse the web with a built-in browser.

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

    Information we collect

    Stored only on your device

The following stays on your device and is not uploaded to our servers:

    • Songs you create with AI (audio files) and their lyrics, prompts and titles
    • Favorite songs, bookmarks and favorite websites
    • Browser data such as tabs, history, cache and cookies
    • App preferences, such as theme, playback and browser settings

    Sent to create your music

When you create a song, we send what you enter for that song — your prompt or description, lyrics, music style or genre, and title — to our AI music generation partner. See AI music creation.

    Collected automatically

The App uses Google Firebase services, which collect technical and usage information such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, approximate region, app identifiers, how the App is used and crash details. See Firebase services.

    Information you give us

If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and help you.

We do not ask for your name, phone number or payment card details. If you buy a subscription, the payment is handled by Apple; we only receive confirmation that your purchase is active.

    How we use information

    • To generate the music you ask for and deliver it to your device
    • To run the App's features, including the browser and music player
    • To understand which features are used, so we can improve them
    • To detect, investigate and fix crashes and bugs
    • To turn features on or off and adjust settings without an app update (Remote Config)
    • To prevent abuse of the AI service and keep the Service secure
    • To answer your questions and support requests
    • To meet legal obligations

    AI music creation

Creating music requires cloud processing. When you tap create, your prompt, lyrics and selected style are sent over an encrypted connection to the servers of our AI music generation partner, which composes the song and returns the audio to the App.

    • Your request is used only to create your song and to protect the service from misuse.
    • Request data is not kept on the processing servers longer than needed to deliver your song, except where the provider must keep it for a limited time for security or legal reasons.
    • The finished song is saved on your device. You can delete it at any time.
    • We may check requests automatically to block content that breaks our Terms of Service.

Please keep prompts and lyrics free of personal information such as full names, addresses, phone numbers, passwords or health and financial details. Anything you type into a prompt is sent for processing.

    Web browser

MixTube includes a web browser built on Apple's WebKit. It is unrestricted: it can open any website on the internet, and we do not filter, review or control the content of the websites you visit.

    • Your history, bookmarks, tabs, cache and cookies are stored on your device. We do not record your browsing history on our servers.
    • The websites you visit receive information directly from your device, as in any browser (for example your IP address and cookies they set), and handle it under their own privacy policies.
    • On the MixTube home page, the text you type in the search box is sent to Google to show search suggestions, and your search goes to the search engine you choose (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo or Yandex).
    • Songs on the MixTube home page are streamed from Wikimedia Commons, which receives standard request data such as your IP address. See the Wikimedia privacy policy.
    • Websites may ask to use your camera, microphone or location, or ask you to choose photos to upload. This happens only with your permission (see Device permissions).
    • You can clear browsing data at any time in the App's settings.

    Device permissions

MixTube asks for access to these features through the standard iOS prompt, only when they are needed. You can allow or deny each one. If you deny a permission, only the feature that needs it stops working.

PermissionWhen it is requestedHow it is used
Photos (add only) When you choose to save an image, for example from a web page in the browser The image is added to your Photos library.
Photo Library When a website you open in the browser asks you to choose a photo or video to upload, for example a profile picture or an attachment Only the photos or videos you select are given to that website. MixTube does not browse, collect or upload your other photos, and never sends them to our servers.
Camera When a website you open in the browser, or an App feature you choose to use, asks for the camera The picture or video goes directly to that website or feature. We do not record or store it.
Microphone When a website you open in the browser, or an App feature you choose to use, asks for the microphone The audio goes directly to that website or feature. We do not record or store it.
Location (while using) When a website you open in the browser asks for your location, for example a map Your location is shared only with that website, and never in the background. We do not store it.

Photos, camera, microphone and location data are not sent to our servers, to Firebase or to our AI partner. Once you allow a website to use them, or upload a photo to it, that website handles the data under its own privacy policy.

You can review or change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → MixTube.

    Firebase services

We use the following services from Google Firebase. Google processes this data on our behalf under the Firebase privacy and security terms and the Google Privacy Policy.

    ServiceData collectedPurpose
Firebase Analytics Screens viewed and features used (for example creating a song, playing music, opening the browser), session length, app version, device model, OS version, language, approximate region derived from your IP address, and an app instance identifier Understand how the App is used and improve it
Firebase Crashlytics Crash reports: the technical trace of the error, device model, OS version, app version, device state at the time (such as free memory and disk space), time of the crash, and a Crashlytics installation identifier Find and fix crashes and bugs
Firebase Remote Config A Firebase installation identifier and basic app and device details (app version, OS, language, region) Deliver settings and turn features on or off without an app update

These identifiers are generated for the App installation; they are not your name, email or phone number. We use this information only to run and improve MixTube, and we do not sell it.

    How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only:

    • With service providers that help us run MixTube: our AI music generation partner, Google Firebase, and Apple for App Store purchases. They may use the data only to provide their services to us.
    • For legal reasons, when required by law, a court order or a government request, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or us.
    • In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.

    Data retention

    • On your device: kept until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App.
    • AI requests: kept only as long as needed to create and deliver your song (see AI music creation).
    • Crash reports: kept by Crashlytics for up to 90 days.
    • Analytics: event data is kept for no longer than 14 months; after that only aggregated reports remain.
    • Support emails: kept as long as needed to resolve your request.

    Security

We protect your information with reasonable measures: all communication with our partners and Firebase uses encrypted HTTPS connections, data on your device is protected by iOS security features, and we do not store your songs or browsing data on our own servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

    Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (for example in the EU or UK under the GDPR, or in California under the CCPA), you may have the right to:

    • Access the personal information we hold about you
    • Ask us to correct or delete it
    • Object to or limit how we use it, including analytics
    • Receive a copy of your information
    • Withdraw consent you gave earlier
    • Complain to your local data protection authority

You can also act directly in the App: delete songs, lyrics and favorites; clear browsing data; turn device permissions on or off in iOS Settings; or uninstall the App to remove everything stored on your device. To make a request, email us (see Contact us). We will respond within the time required by law.

    Children's privacy

MixTube is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the built-in browser can open any website, parents can use Screen Time to restrict content. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

    International transfers

Our service providers, including Google Firebase and our AI partner, may process information in countries other than yours, such as the United States. Where required, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

    Third-party websites and content

The browser lets you visit websites that we do not operate, and the music library includes songs published by others under their own licenses. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. Please read the privacy policy of each website you visit.

    Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for important changes, let you know in the App. Using MixTube after an update means you accept the updated policy.
